Lisbon Oceanarium
Designed by American architect Peter Chermaieff, it played the emblematic role of Pavilion of the Oceans at the time of Lisbon’s EXPO ’98. From the outside the two structures of the building, joined by a bridge, resemble the sails of ship at anchor. The main façade also features a huge mural of 55 thousand tiles, depicting giant sea creatures. Inside, it projects a concept of a global ocean, recreating the habitat of the Pacific, Indian, Atlantic and Antarctic Oceans. Besides the guided tours, the educational service of the Oceanarium also hosts themed workshops, conferences, musical concerts for infants, birthday parties and even makes it possible for youngsters to spend a night in company with… sharks.

Discoteca Lux / Lux Disco
With an excepcional location by the Tagus river, Lux is the Lisbon disco/bar that enjoys the highest reputation at national and internacional level. A huge complex that sprawls over three different levels: discothéque on the ground floor, bar on the first floor, with an enjoyable veranda leaning over the river, and a terrace top floor, with a view of over the city and the Tagus. In the bar the space is generous and you can also dance here although the pace is somewhat more relaxed than on the ground floor. The décor is original and changes quite frequently. The music selection is carefully designed and daring, following all the latest trends and ensuring musical diversity. Wine lovers will also find a very fine selection at the bar, which serves wine by the glass. With all these attributes, Lux is very often singled out (by specialist magazines and opinion makers) as one of the best clubs in Europe.
